Frustrated Friday!!

So when I went to turn my car on this morning, the check engine soon light came on along with the cruise light flashing. I was able to make it to work, my car was a little hesitant when i put my fur on the gas but was ok to drive. So I decided to drop off my car at a Monroe place which is a block away from my work. This little occurrence with my car happened two weeks after a really heavy rain storm. So I thought I should definitly have it looked at. I decided to get an oil change there as well seeing they were having a special $19.99 compared to $30 elsewhere. Two hours later I get a call telling me the damage. I really dont know anything about cars so I was quite confused. He said my misfire was not active and I need new spark plugs and an interim coil or I could definitly be pronouncing this wrong. And the coil itself would be $350 then to have all the work done would be about $675 and then just to make me feel extra happy he threw in that my front breaks were shot and would probably be gone in the next couple days and if I wanted to get those done it would be about $450. Hearing those numbers and all that was wrong made me feel so helpless and frustrated. I definitly don't have those funds available at all.

I ended up just paying for the oil change and the fee to check the engine and took my car to place where I bought it, a subaru dealership. I am hoping that the monroe mechanics are wrong and it isnt so bad or that the prices are a little lower. Either way I know I have to get this work done.

So I dropped off my car at the subaru dealer and got a ride back to work from one of the managers there. Now I am waiting to hear back from them and have to ask one of my co-workers for a drive home to my apt after work..

I feel like im sinking and that at every turn a new bill or expense is popping up and I dont know how I will stay afloat....

Sorry for the rant...just needed to let it out before I combust at work.
