Last night 3 wives and two ladies in pilot training came over to our house for some yummy food and conversation! I thought it would be a good idea to get everyone together before the holidays and get to know each other and make plans for the next year! It turned out great! Everyone was super friendly and chatty and I am happy to have hosted everyone here and made new friends!
Here was our menu:
home made hummus (which was delicious, will have to get the recipe from her) and veggies
m&m cookies
chocolate chip oat squares (also yummy and would love to try myself!)
chicken wing dip ( my sister's recipe)
oreo parfait ( my own concoction)
I am looking forward to our next get together whether it be snacking on treats, shopping or venturing around our little town!
Recipe for chicken wing dip
8oz cream cheese
1 bottle of blue cheese dressing
1 bottle of buffalo wing sauce
1 lb of boneless chicken
1 bag of shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
1. Cook the chicken either in the over or the trusty george foreman and then cut or shred into small pieces
2. Spread cream cheese in the bottom of a 13x9 glass dish ( i have many pyrex dishes like this)
3. Mix the chicken with the wing sauce in a pan on the stove under medium heat for five minutes
4. Mix in 1/2 the mozzarella or chedder shredded cheese into the chicken sauce mixture
5. Spread the chicken mixture on top of the cream cheese.
6. Spread the blue cheese dressing over the top of the chicken
7. Top with the remaining mozz or cheddar shredded cheese
8. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes and serve with tortilla chips!
My oreo parfait is quite simple as well:
2 boxes of sugar free pudding
80z fat free cool whip
1 package of oreos
1. Mix in milk and pudding mixture and let sit in fridge
2. When pudding is set, start the layering process
3. bottom layer is oreos cut in two, then chocolate pudding, then cool whip
4. Layer until you have no more ingredients, refigerate then enjoy!
