Between the Lines-Book Review

Its been a while...well for me the book worm since a book review post and that's because I joined a book club. This was our first book and only two others attended and read but I enjoyed it! We meet next week to talk about the ending of the book but I read a little early and finished 19 minutes by Jodi Picoult.

This book was a little out of my comfort zone actually. I have read one other Jodi Picoult book, My sister's keeper, which was quite sad. And when I would look at other Picoult books, they seemed sad, scary or depressing. When I heard we were reading this for the book club, I decided to go for it and I really enjoyed it. It's about a school shooting and there is a time line to follow from the day it happened to 10 years before and up to a year after. It gave me many different perspectives of this situation, from a parent, judge, classmate, shooter and victim. I would recommend this book especially for a book club because some interesting discussion or debates may come about.

  2. I'm always hesitant to read anything by Jodi Picoult. I feel like her novels would seriously depress me. I'm glad you got a lot out of this one. It sounds like the discussions were very rich!
