I am one who tries not to succumb to the popular trends lol specifically in technology. Clothes, if I like the trends and can definitly see myself in it, I will buy it but if i know I may be ridiculous I wont spend my money on it. I have always been a little apprehensive about new technology. I got upset when the dvd player came out because I already had soo many videotapes, when the ipod came out I already had an mp3 player and would have to download all these songs again and when the iphone came out I thought it was ridiculous for my fiancee to buy when he already had an apple laptop that he could do pretty much anything on. Eventually I did start buying dvds and after a couple years did purchase an ipod but I am quite happy with my apple desktop that I got for Christmas last year and do not see the need for the iphone at the present time.
This leads me to my discovery of the kindle. I am quite intrigued by this innovation. You can bring up to 1,500 books with you traveling and dont have to worry about carrying around tons of heavy books and I am a library gal myself, you can download books for free and have them out for a certain amount of time. As a soon to be military wife in less than 5 months, I feel I must have this gadget. I am actually surprised that I like this new technology so much!! It is 250 dollars so I obviously cant bring myself to buy it lol So I am hoping to convince someone to get it for my big 25th birthday in May!!
Anyone who has purchased it or actually used it have any feedback on it??? positive or negative..
let me know what you hear - i'm considering buying one for when i travel. the only downside is you have to turn it off during takeoff and landing. sometimes regular books win. :)
