Simple living tip-how I use Amazon Subscribe and Save to inventory my house

When the quarantine happened in March and there started to be shortages on toilet paper and other household products and it was recommended to have more time between grocery visits, I decided to look into Amazon's Subscribe and Save program. I have had Amazon Prime for 10 years and have utilized the free shipping, the prime video as well as recently Amazon Photos (which I will dive in deeper to in another post).

I had used Subscribe and Save in the past for diapers and wipes and enjoyed not having to think about those items on my weekly grocery visits as well as reaped the benefits of the discounted price. I hadn't used that service in a couple years and decided to look into so that when I ordered my groceries or went in to the grocery store, all I had to get was food and not any household items. I was trying to reduce the amount of stores I needed to go to like Walgreens and Walmart for household and toiletry items.

Like most things in my life I like to organize, I started out with a list. I literally walked around my house and went into every room (mostly the kitchen and bathroom) and wrote down things we consistently use. After I made my list, I searched on Amazon and started subscribing. At that point in March, there were quite a few items that were unavailable but as the months have gone by I have reassessed and checked back and have been able to subscribe to the majority of my household items.

Now that I have been doing this for over 6 months, every month before the first of the next month, I check on what we have in regards to toiletry items and household items to see if we need that subscription this month or if we can skip. I love that it is something I have control over receiving and can skip or change the delivery date on if I don't need it right now.

This is just another monthly routine I have added to my life that simplifies my grocery shopping, saves my family money as well as allows me to inventory my house and only keep the things we need or are using.
